According to the latest edition of The Global Liveability Index published by The Economist’s Intelligence Unit, Karachi is among the least livable cities among 140 surveyed cities of the world.
Karachi was ranked at 136th spot, one better than last year, making it the 5th least liveable city. The other poorest performing cities on the index include Damascus (Syria), Lagos (Nigeria), Dhaka (Bangladesh) and Tripoli (Libya).
Karachi`s ranking has improved by just one spot in comparison to 2018 when it was listed on the 137th position
Other countries included in the list of the 10 least liveable cities include Caracas in Venezuela, Algiers in Algeria, Douala in Cameroon, Harare in Zimbabwe and Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.
