Tesla is preparing to build half a million electric vehicles a year, according to media reports.

To explore investment opportunities in the Pakistani electric vehicle (EV) industry, Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet with executives at Tesla Motors.

Javed Afridi has been at the forefront of campaigning in Pakistan for EVs to be made the standard. In addition, MG, a main stakeholder of which is Afridi, is also expected to launch the ZS EV in Pakistan, reportedly in the first quarter of 2021.

The government launched Pakistan’s new EV strategy late last year, announcing a range of benefits and incentives for both interested investors in the local EV sector and potential buyers.
