Hina Bukhari Is The First Muslim Woman To Be Elected To London Assembly
In the recent news, Hina Bukhari, a Pakistani teacher’s daughter, has made history by becoming the first Muslim woman to be elected to the London Assembly. His father, Syed Naz Bukhari, who was also the teacher of Mayor Sadiq Khan, was Britain’s first Muslim headteacher.
Hailing from Pakistan, Hina is now a part of a 25-member assembly that audits the work and activities of the Mayor. It’s also responsible for amending the annual budget, forming policies according to feasibility with the formation of Greater London.
